The argument was initially between a motorcyclist and the driver of a car which nearly collided at 8.45pm. Things, however, turned ugly when friends of both men turned up. It was then that the victim tried to intervene.
However, one of the men in the argument attacked the victim with a parang, slicing his left palm and nearly severing the hand.
Kulai Jaya police chief Superintendent Zulkefly Yahya said the victim was rushed to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital where he is currently recuperating.
He said police were now looking for 19-year-old Wong Bi Sheng, whose last known address was 28, Jalan Paya in Bukit Batu, to assist in their investigations.
PRICES are indeed on the rise. And instead of passing the extra cost on to their customers, some hypermarkets are working towards keeping their prices low.

The three children who were found dead in a 10th floor room at the downtown Marriott yesterday afternoon had been drowned in the bathtub, probably early Saturday evening shortly after their father checked in to the hotel, city police said at a news conference this morning.
Police Commissioner Frederick H. Bealefeld III said the children’s mother, Amy Castillo, reported the children missing to the Montgomery County Police Department at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, when her estranged husband failed to return after a visit.
The commissioner said Baltimore authorities had no idea anyone was missing until the father, Mark Castillo, 41, called hotel security and said he had killed his children and was considering harming himself.
Bealefeld said the victims, Anthony Castillo, 6; Austin Castillo, 4; and Athena Castillo, 2, had been drowned one by one in the tub. The commissioner would not say where the bodies had been found. “Cases like this are always difficult,” he said.
Authorities said they are investigating possible motives; court files in Montgomery County show that the couple have a pending custody battle over the children. “Children are a gift from God,” Mayor Sheila Dixon said this morning. “We will be asking ourselves why, why, why?”
Police said this morning they are searching a van owned by the couple that was found parked near the Inner Harbor.
Mark Castillo remains at University of Maryland Medical Center with what police described as minor self-inflicted cuts. He has not been charged.

The WWE website streamed the earlier inductions live tonight. You can read my coverage of those inductions by clicking here. The following are notes on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson inducting Rocky Johnson and Peter Maivia, and Triple H inducting Ric Flair. This portion of the broadcast is airing live on USA Network.
-An excellent video aired with shots of countless WWE Hall of Famers and the Class of 2008.
-Todd Grisham welcomed everyone to the show and introduced Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Huge pop when his music hit. Rock out and flashed a big smile. Big cheers and “Rocky” chants once the music stopped playing.
Rock said it’s an honor to be at the Hall of Fame. He stopped himself and said something was missing. He pulled out a mic from under the podium and said, “Finally, The Rock has come back to Orlando.” The live crowd ate it up. “Damn that felt good, thank you,” he said.
He said it was great to see so many smiling faces, including Steve Austin. A shot aired of a smiling Austin. Then Rock pointed out Mick Foley. Rock said only in this business could a man pull out a sock from a crotch area, shove it down Rock’s throat, and make it a better man. Rock pointed out that Foley drew a tuxedo on his sock. “Only Mick Foley,” Rock said. “Love you, buddy.”
Rock pretended to be happy to see Jonathan Coachman, but said no one cared about him. Rock pointed out Chris Jericho and mocked his “12 year-old boy haircut.” Jericho played along by standing up and pretending to be angry. Rock called him a Backstreet Boy and said, “Love the highlights.” Jericho laughed.
Rock said Triple H is so obsessed with winning the WWE Title “that the mere thought of that somehow made Stephanie McMahon pregnant.” Stephanie laughed. Rock congratulated them on the pregnancy.

AUSTIN, Texas (KXAN) - It was a wet and muggy start as thousands laced up for the 31st Annual Statesman Capitol 10K Run.
Thousands trekked through downtown Austin for the 6.2 mile race Sunday morning.
For one three-time participant, the race is significant because it offers a sense of freedom.
“Normally everyday life in a chair it's confining trying to find accessible places,” said Melanie Holder.
The Capitol 10K is the largest race in Texas. All of the proceeds benefit the University Medical Center At Brackenridge.

A coalition of 38 Zimbabwean non-governmental organisations which had observer status at weekend elections expressed concern on Sunday over the delay to results, saying it risked fuelling tensions.
“The delay in announcing these results is fuelling speculation that there could be something going on,” said Noel Kututwa, the head of the Zimbabwe Election Support Network (ZESN).
“The announcement of results in a timely, transparent and accountable manner helps reduce tensions following any election.”
No results have yet been released by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission nearly 24 hours after voting ended at 7:00 pm (1700 GMT) on Saturday.
Kututwa told a press conference that it was understood that the reason for the delay in releasing the poll outcome was that the body overseeing the poll, the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) was having “logistical” problems.
The poll-watching agency, which deployed 8,000 observers across the 9,000 polling stations, “encourages the ZEC to conduct the tabulation of the election results as quickly as possible.”
The ZESN is one of a handful of local organisations who were authorised to observe the elections along with a number of international observer missions.
Zimbabweans went to the polls on Saturday to choose a president, lawmakers and councillors in a contest in which veteran President Robert Mugabe is fighting for a sixth consecutive term in office.
The electoral commission has said results will be released after a verification and counting process at wards but the main opposition Movement for Democratic Change party has already claimed it won the elections.

DETROIT – Stephen Curry darted this way, faked that way. Nothing open, and the bright red numbers on the clock getting close to zero.
He was the right guy — the only guy — to take the biggest shot of the NCAA tournament.
But there wasn’t one. All he could do was pass the ball and watch as Jason Richards’ desperation try thudded off the backboard.
Davidson was done. Kansas was in.
“It hurts a lot to get this far, be so close to get to the Final Four,” Curry said after top-seeded Kansas held off little Davidson, 59-57, Sunday.
The Jayhawks’ win in the Midwest Regional final sent all four No. 1 seeds to the Final Four for the first time.
“I’m definitely proud of what we’ve accomplished and what we’re about and what we’ve just proven all year,” Curry said. “… But it’s going to hurt. This game’s going to hurt a lot for the next however long.”
Curry, the son of former NBA sharpshooter Dell Curry, had made the tournament his own little party, scoring at will with his silky-smooth shot and carrying Davidson to one improbable victory after another. He looked as if he might do it again, drilling a 3-pointer from NBA range to cut Kansas’ lead to 59-57 with 54 seconds remaining.
After Kansas’ Sherron Collins missed with 21 seconds to go, the 10th-seeded Wildcats got one last chance.
And of course they gave the ball to Curry.
“Kansas had four guards out there and they just switched. It kind of defeated the purpose of the play,” Curry said. “I gave them a pump fake to try to get a look, but I was off-balance when he fell down. So I saw Jay open at the top of the key, so I swung it to him.”
