Obama’s Panama?

Obama is not a muslim? How do you know that?
On March 14th, 2007, the Obama Campaign told the LA Times that Obama was not a “practicing Muslim.”
But Muslims do not see practice as key. For them, that Obama was born to a line of Muslim males makes him born a Muslim. Further, all children born with an Arabic name based on the H-S-N trilateral root can be assumed to be Muslim, so they will understand Obama’s full name, Barack Hussein Obama, to proclaim him a born Muslim.
There is no dispute among either ancient or modern Muslim scholars that under Islamic law, a murtadd, “one who turns his back on Islam,” an apostate, must be put to death. Irtidad, apostasy, is committing treason against God, and traitors deserve to be killed. At a minimum, other Muslims would shun him if not kill him and his mother. The fact they are eagerly welcomed by the Muslim community begs the question, is he their ‘Manchurian’ candidate?
Obama’s father was a Muslim. Obama’s grandfather was a Muslim. Obama’s stepfather was a Muslim. Sarah, who Obama calls grandmother is a Muslim. Obama’s stepbrothers and stepsisters are Muslims.
Obama’s sister Maya was quoted by the New York Times as saying, “My whole family was Muslim.”
For a time, he was educated and lived as a Muslim. Only Obama knows what he is today.
All Indonesian students are required to study religion at school and a young Barry Soetoro, being registered as a Muslim, was required to study Islam daily in school.
He was taught to read and write Arabic, to recite his prayers properly, to read and recite from the Quran and to study the laws of Islam.
In his autobiography, “Dreams From My Father,” Obama mentions studying the Quran and describes the public school as “a Muslim school.”

“People were asking for shirts, so we decided to do it,” said BJ Sabate of Maui Bay and Buti Groove.
You might not have known about the Punahou School connection. Sabate is a 1993 graduate.
He was more than happy to help contribute to a candidate who could be the next president.
The company was asked to sell shirts at the state Democratic convention two weeks ago.
“We donated the proceeds to the campaign and the turnout was crazy. We sold out of all our shirts,” Sabate said.
The machines at the Mapunapuna print shop were in full swing on Tuesday, printing up “I Love Obama” tank tops and Obama totes.
The shirts and other merchandise are all locally printed and exclusive to Hawaii. They are only offered online or at the Piikoi shop.
They went on sale about two months ago. Buti Groove is known for its youthful edgy designs. However, the presidential campaign with local ties is something they had not thought could broaden their reach.
“It’s a great way to bring in different customers and the get to see the shop and we also offer custom printing here,” Sabate said.
“Most of the people who come in here are buying it and shipping it to the mainland and buying it for gifts for people who support him,” Buti Groove retail worker Keika Albarado said.
Back at the plant, the Obama designs are flying off racks.
“I’m sure after tonight there will be more people printing T-shirts,” Sabate said.
The shop hopes to present Obama Ohana T-shirts to the family on their return to the islands.

Curtain Time for Barack Obama

Three days after the Chicago Sun-Times reported that Aiham Alsammarae, the former electricity minister convicted of corruption in Iraq, put up $2.7 million in property to help raise $8.5 million to free Tony Rezko from jail in Chicago, the Times reported that Alsammarae had contributed six times to Obama’s presidential campaign.
The April 29, 2008 report also noted that before he escaped from jail in Bagdad in December 2006, and returned to Chicago, Obama’s US Senate office had sought information about Alsammarae from the State Department on October 16, 2006 on behalf of Alsammarae’s family while he was being held in jail in Iraq.
As usual, when busted on the contributions given in January, February and March, the Obama camp said it would donate Alsammarae’s money to charity and his spokesman, Ben LaBolt, put out the standard line that Obama does not ever “recall” meeting Alsammarae.
The money missing due to Alsammarae’s corruption in Iraq during the two years he served as electricity minister between August 2003 and May 2005 is estimated to be $2 billion.
The Operation Board Games investigation revealed that Alsammarae signed contracts worth $200 million that benefited both Rezko and the Iraqi-born billionaire, Nadhmi Auchi, who ended up with Riverside Park, a 62-acre lot in the Chicago Loop estimated to now be worth $2.5 billion.
As noted previously in this series, understanding the connections between Auchi and Riverside Park and all the players is the key to understanding Operation Board Games. Financing deals in the Chicago real estate industry were the focus of the investigation from the start and the financing deals involving Riverside Park specifically.
On September 29, 2005, Crain’s Chicago Business news reported that General Mediterranean Holding, “a Luxembourg-based conglomerate headed by Nadhmi Auchi, is buying Riverside Park, a yet-to-be-built development on a prime 62-acre parcel on Roosevelt Road,” quoting Michael Rumman, the director of the Illinois Department of Central Management Services, as a consultant on the project.

With just over a month to go before Puerto Rico’s June 1 primary, the former first daughter toured the U.S. territory’s capital of San Juan and shook hands with well-wishers, posed for snapshots and tried to charm voters on behalf of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.
In the day’s first campaign push, the 28-year-old met with roughly 250 senior citizens at a residence run by an order of Catholic nuns. She touted her mother’s health care proposals and stressed her electability.
“I passionately believe my mother is the most prepared and is the strongest candidate,” said Clinton, who dressed in dark blue jeans and a black jacket despite the tropical heat.
The crowd appeared to made up entirely of the Clinton faithful, including 78-year-old Annie Riera.
“It’s very good that she came here to meet the Puerto Rican people firsthand. I’m proudly voting for her mother,” said Riera, pointing to a campaign pin on her blouse.
Later in the day, Clinton toured the capital’s colonial district of Old San Juan. She was also scheduled to meet with a Christian youth group, followed by a visit to a gay rights organization. She refused to take questions from reporters.
Angel Urena, a spokesman for Hillary Clinton’s campaign, said the young woman has been a strong asset for her mother in the tight race.
“In many respects, she has taken on the role as one of Senator Clinton’s greatest advocates on the campaign trail,” Urena said.
Her two-day visit comes roughly three weeks after her father, former President Bill Clinton, stumped across the U.S. territory for his wife
In coming days, Hillary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama are both expected to touch down in the Spanish-speaking U.S. territory, where local politics largely revolve around the island’s relationship to the U.S. mainland.
Some analysts say Hillary Clinton’s New York ties could strengthen her support in Puerto Rico and reduce Obama’s lead in the overall popular vote — possibly improving her case at the Democratic National Convention in August. Puerto Ricans cannot vote in the general presidential election, but a high turnout is expected in the June 1 vote.

Obama's neighbor Ayers

Bill Ayers in February 2000. Photo for the Tribune by Kevin Tanaka
by Frank James
Many people are likely wondering “Who’s this Bill Ayers guy?” about whom so many words were expended at last night’s Democratic presidential debate between Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton.
Ayers was a 1960s radical, a leader in the Weathermen, a group which exploded a few bombs, one of which accidentially killed three of its members. Ayers, along with his wife Bernadine Dohrn, went undergound for years only to eventually reemerge to become a University of Illinois education professor, a Hyde Park neighbor to Obama and, now, a touchpoint in the 2008 presidential race.
School reform crusader Bill Ayers works within the system now, but don’t ask the former Weatherman to apologize for his radical past

A good-looking married couple from Chicago, professional, accomplished and just the other side of middle age, are on their annual August vacation in northern California, reminiscing about their youth, their fugitive days.
They are sitting on a bluff, overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the soothing sounds of the crashing surf floating up to surround them like background music in yoga class. A chilly fog has rolled in.In the old days, the couple enjoyed coming to such places. The sea air tasted like freedom. But they had to be careful about who saw them trying to be normal. They had to remember to use their phony names.
For years, his was “Joe.” Hers was “Rose.”
“I was at the top of my field,” the wife says. “I was on the FBI’s 10 most wanted list.”
She smiles at her husband.
“He was on the bottom,” she adds. “I was most wanted, he was just wanted, sort of wanted.”
“Sexism,” he contends, shrugging. “We were facing the same federal charges. She has better legs. I could have been No. 1.”

Obama’s views are documented in his books and speeches and the effort to associate him with his minister is another desperate tactics by the media that was accused being soft on Obama by Mrs. Clinton supporters.
If your opinion is tied with your minister, then we should apply the same standard on a husband and wife. We can legitimately accuse Mrs. Clinton for standing with her husband who disgraced the office he held through his sex scandal with Monica Lewinsky.
The Democratic Party is in big trouble. If this race is decided based on such misinformation by the media associating Obama with his minister or Mrs. Clinton with her husband’s behavior many democrats will leave the party for good and join by default the Republican Party.
The ultimate responsibility is on Mrs. Clinton and her husband who are trying to win the candidacy of their party by playing the race card. They are doing this by instigating the media to play the misinformation campaign against Obama that started today on ABC.
Mrs. Clinton should denounce ABC for today’s clip against Obama and come clean. Otherwise we will take it as an endorsement. She will pay the price for it and be remembered as the woman who destroyed the Democratic Party.

A brilliant speaker, Mr Obama often uses the rhetorical trick of rapidly repeating words and slogans and using catchy phrases that tend to attract young Americans, while having very little substance.
Favourites include the call: “We are the hope of the future. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”
Dr Sean Wilentz, a Princeton historian and stern critic of the current administration of George W.Bush, said: “What’s troubling about the campaign is that it’s gone beyond hope and change to redemption.”
When Oprah Winfrey endorsed Mr Obama in Iowa last month she proclaimed: “I believe he is The One.”
At the campaign’s “Camp Obama” - a training programme run ahead of primaries in key states - volunteers are schooled to avoid talking to voters about policy, and instead tell of how they “came” to Obama, just as born-again Christians talk about “coming to Jesus.”
New York Times columnist David Brooks wrote: “Obama’s people are so taken with their messiah that soon they’ll be selling flowers at airports and arranging mass weddings.”
Obama fever has also broken out on the internet - and a rash of new sites has opened, poking gentle fun at the senator’s over-the-top campaign.

Obama’s Pastor

“We started the AIDS virus”? Heh.
Via Hot Air, where AP posted it in response to the left’s outrage over Hagee and McCain. He writes:
Frankly, I consider this to be an even more important issue than Hagee. After all, McCain doesn’t visit Hagee’s church on a weekly basis. There’s no connection there, no spiritual relationship. Obama, however, does have a relationship - and a very important one at that - with his pastor, who you just heard preaching hatred of America basically.
It’s not politically correct to say this, but I’m going to say it nonetheless: saying “I don’t agree with everything he ever said” shouldn’t be enough. This pastor plays a very big role in Obama’s life, and he lets himself be influenced by him heavily. He and his wife often use religious rhetoric which means that they don’t seem to be all that much in favor of a 100% separation of religion and state.
No, this should be an issue. Obama should completely distance himself from his Pastor.
He won’t, simply no one will push him to do what he should do (black racism isn’t considered to be a true problem by many liberals).
And no, this isn’t an attempted smear, this is truly what I think of this issue. If Obama was white, and his preacher as well, and you would have replaced black with white and vice versa, the entire media would be all over Obama. In fact, his campaign would have been dead already.
