CEDAR RAPIDS - Here are snippets from the introduction to the search warrant served on the Agriprocessors, Inc., meatpacking plant in Postville on Monday:
“Over at least the last two years, (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) has received information concerning immigration offenses at and by employees of Agriprocessors, including allegations of harboring illegal aliens… engaging in a pattern or practice of hiring and continuing to employ undocumented aliens… document fraud… misuse of Social Security numbers… and aggravated identity theft. This affidavit sets forth some, but not all, of the information ICE and other law enforcement officers possess concerning potential violations of the above-referenced statutes and potentially other criminal laws, but rather, is a summary of evidence in ICE’s possession sufficient to establish probable cause to support this search warrant.
“This criminal search warrant is sought simultaneously… in connection with the issuance of 697 criminal complaints and arrest warrants against persons believed to be current employees of Agriprocessors… Of the approximately 697 charged by complaint, the government currently possesses copies of photo identification for only about 15 individuals.
“There is reason to believe there will be other employees present at Agriprocessors facility whose lawful authority to reside and work in the United States is unknown. Accordingly, in conjunction with the execution of this criminal search warrant, ICE intends to question any alien or person found on the Agriprocessors property believed to be an alien as to his or her right to be or remain in the United States, for purposes of determining whether the alien should be administratively processed for removal.
The following is an abbreviated version of the testimony of 15 former and current employees of the facility included in the search warrant. The sources identities have been withheld in the search warrant:
— Source #1 was a supervisor at the plant between 2005 and 2006. That person supervised citizens of Mexico, Guatemala and Eastern Europe, and estimated that 80 percent of these employees were illegally present in the United States. There was an incident at Agriprocessors where Source #1 discovered active methamphetamine production in the plant. The source partially destroyed the lab, which led to a physical confrontation with the source’s immediate supervisor. Source #1 said he or she believes the incident led to their termination. There were also incidents of weapons being carried in Agriprocessors. Source #1 described a conversation with the Agriprocessors Human Resources Manager concerning three Social Security cards from three employees that all contained the same Social Security number, and that the Human Resources Manager laughed when it was brought to her attention. The source also described another conversation with the Human Resources Manager regarding Agriprocessors’ employees’ taxes and the fact that they were deducted and deposited in bank accounts belonging to an unknown person or people.

Judge rules Kazee capable

CATLETTSBURG, Apr 02, 2008 (The Daily Independent - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) — – The man accused of being the infamous “Duct Tape Bandit” has been found competent to stand trial.
Boyd Circuit Judge C. David Hagerman ruled Tuesday following a closed-door hearing that Kasey G. Kazee was mentally capable of being tried on charges of first-degree robbery and second-degree persistent felony offender.
The judge scheduled Kazee’s trial for May 12.
Hagerman signed an order in October directing that Kazee undergo a psychiatric evaluation at the Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center at LaGrange.
According to Hagerman, the competency hearing was moved from the courtroom to his chambers after Kazee’s attorney, public defender Brian Hewlett, raised the issue of whether his client’s psychiatric records were protected under the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, which prevents the release of certain medical information without a patient’s consent.
Dr. Stephen H. Free, the leader of the team at KCPC that evaluated Kazee, testified at Tuesday’s hearing, according to Hagerman’s order.
Free told the court he found no evidence that Kazee suffered from psychosis, the order states. He also said it was his opinion that Kazee did not lack the capacity to appreciate the nature and consequences of the proceedings against him, and that he was able to participate rationally in his own defense.
Kazee, 24, has pleaded not guilty to the charges, which stem from an incident this past summer that generated national and international attention.
According to the Ashland Police Department, Kazee entered Shamrock Liquors at 13th Street and Pollard Road on Aug. 10 with his entire face and head, save for his eyes and mouth, wrapped in duct tape and his shirt pulled up over his head.
Kazee allegedly indicated to a female clerk that he had a knife and threatened to harm her if she didn’t give him the money in the cash register. The clerk complied and the robber turned and fled with his pockets stuffed full of quarters from the register, but nothing more.

Margera Sex Tape To Be Released?

“Jackass” regular Bam Margera is at the center of a sex tape scandal, with racy footage of the star reportedly set to be released on a pay-per-view Web site.
Margera, who has previously been romantically linked to Jessica Simpson, is allegedly shown in the tape performing sex acts with blonde Lindsay Hughes, the fiancee of New York radio host Gregg “Opie” Hughes.
Steppin’ Out magazine reports the tape has been obtained by a former employee of Gregg Hughes, who is now considering taking legal action in a bid to stop the film being published on the Internet.
The publication’s Chaunce Hayden tells the New York Post’s Page Six, “They’re doing the nasty — and I mean nasty. Hughes is taking legal action to prevent its distribution.
“Apparently, he’s so distraught, he’s banned the name ‘Bam’ from being mentioned on the (radio) show.”
The alleged video footage is sure to put Margera’s one-year marriage to Melissa Rothstein under further pressure. Just months into their marriage, in July 2007, Rothstein reportedly gave the star an ultimatum — to quit drugs or end up divorced.
Gross, who would want to watch this fugly idiot doing the deed?? And I would think the fact that Jessica Simpson had sex with this scum would scare away any future prospects. Thank goodness she’s still got those Double D’s, right Papa Joe??
